What is hydrotherapy?

The supportive and reduced weight-bearing environment of water enables early return to function and improves muscle strength after limb or back surgery or injury and improves range of motion of compromised joints.

Why a hydro underwater treadmill rather than just a pool?

The hydro treadmill is the most sophisticated means of hydrotherapy available, as the degree of activity is precisely controlled and may be ‘fine-tuned’ according to how patients are progressing through changes to the height of water supporting the animal and changes in either or both the speed of the treadmill and the incline of the slope.

Why Taverham Vets REHAB SERVICE?

Our trained hydrotherapists (who are also qualified Veterinary Nurses), work alongside our fully qualified PHYSIOTHERAPIST and OSTEOPATH to provide the very best rehabilitation care possible. Our hydro treadmill is the only one in the Norwich region.

How do I make an appointment for Aquavet?

Simply contact a member of staff at Taverham Vets Longwater Lane who will talk you through the procedure. Patients are first assessed by our Physio and then a co-ordinated programme of exercises and treadmill sessions are designed specifically for your pet’s condition.
