Cardiology

We provide a comprehensive in-house cardiology service

The Taverham Vets cardiology service is run by Tom Robertson MA VetMB CertVDI CertVC MRCVS. Tom is an active member of the Veterinary Cardiovascular Society (VCS) and he is one of a very small number of vets in the country who have RCVS certificates in both Cardiology and Diagnostic Imaging. Tom is an RCVS Advanced Practitioner and received the VCS prize for obtaining the highest marks in his certificate examination in Cardiology.

Supported by a large highly qualified and professional veterinary, veterinary nursing and administrative team, Tom provides a comprehensive in-house cardiorespiratory service for dogs and cats. From initial diagnosis to ongoing management, Tom is passionate about improving the quality of life for pets with cardiorespiratory concerns.

In association with the VCS, Tom actively assists canine and feline breeds with heart scoring to try and reduce the prevalence of genetic heart conditions. He attends shows to provide a screening service and provides this service in the practice.

The state-of-the-art equipment available for cardiorespiratory cases within Taverham Veterinary hospital includes Doppler cardiac ultrasound, ECG, radiography, 24 hour continuous Holter ECG monitoring, comprehensively equipped in house laboratory, a sophisticated endoscopy system and CT scanning.
