Cardiology

We provide a comprehensive in-house cardiology service

The cardiology service at Taverham Veterinary Practice is led by Tom Robertson MA VetMB CertVDI CertVC MRCVS, an RCVS Advanced Practitioner with certifications in both Cardiology and Diagnostic Imaging. As an active member of the Veterinary Cardiovascular Society (VCS), Tom is one of a select number of veterinarians in the UK with dual expertise in these fields. He was awarded the VCS prize for achieving the highest marks in his Cardiology certificate examination.

In collaboration with the VCS, Tom plays an active role in breed heart scoring to help reduce the prevalence of inherited cardiac diseases. He provides screening services both within the practice and at breed shows.

The state-of-the-art equipment available for cardiorespiratory cases within Taverham Veterinary hospital includes Doppler cardiac ultrasound, ECG, radiography, 24-hour continuous Holter ECG monitoring, comprehensively equipped in house laboratory, a sophisticated endoscopy system and CT scanning.
